HABs Watch Team at the Project Launch in Palawan
Dr. Deo Florence Onda shares his thoughts on the project after the successful project launch held in Puerto Princesa City.
Last Monday, November 21, HABs WATCH Project officially launched the project in Palawan in the presence of our government partners, collaborators, and supporters.
HABs Watch is the largest consortium funded under the LAKAS CHED program -- 10 SUCs/HEIs and more than 60 researchers (faculty, research assistants, students) involved located across 8 different regions of the country.
As reiterated by Dr. Deo Onda, our project leader, HABs Watch promises to:
- Provide guidance for science-based policy and decision making
- Ensure continuity and sustainability by training and producing new generation of scientists
- Strengthen collaboration by providing opportunities and a productive environment for research and learning
- Empower the communities through participatory data generation and by making information more accessible to the people
- Bridge the public, scientists, and policy makers through science communication
HABs Watch will continue to work hard to ensure the safety of Filipinos and the environment through science and technology.
